A Little About The Tigers

Any good organization, regardless of the endeavor, whether it be sport, business, or religion, depends on a solid foundation.  This foundation is built around a philosophy that allows all members of the group to grow mentally, physically, and emotionally.  At LC our boys’ track and field program thrives on this concept.  Our focus places personal performance and gain secondary, but rather puts the building of relationships and helping others first.

We believe that we can achieve more by not worrying about what we can get from each other but from what we can give to each other.  Since our programs work with young men, we also believe in educating these young men what the true meaning of manhood is, what it means to be a man for others.

You are not the best coach you can be right now, thank goodness!  If you think you are, you are wrong, we all have room to grow and get better.  It is the expectation in this philosophy that we will, as coaches and teachers, continually reflect on our behaviors and practices so they align with our goal of our boys achieving in life.

We firmly believe that life is not striving to just be in the limelight, but that the limelight is what you make it; that the worth of your achievements will not be measured by a dollar sign, but by a relationship.  We employ the belief, as stated by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., that, “Not everyone can be famous, but everyone can be great, because greatness is measured by service.”
